I cannot fault anything! The initial consultation - there was a warm welcome and the procedure was well explained by the consultant who drew all over their arm so that I could understand what had happened and what surgery needed to take place to rectify the problem. All staff were very helpful with completing the forms and taking the swabs. Reception staff - when I phoned up with a query, they were polite and courteous and answered the questions I had. Operation day - again, there was a warm welcome and the staff clearly explained what needed to be done prior to the operation. The surgeon explained in detail what was going to happen so there was not going to be any shocks. The assisting nurses were lovely, upbeat and friendly which was great. Preparation for after care - everything was discussed in a warm, friendly atmosphere and plenty of time given to patient care. I felt well looked after. Follow up appointment - reassurance and excellent advice was given to ensure continued recovery. The operation was a complete success but I was told that I could ring at any time if I had anything that I was worried about. So, thank you Duchy hospital for your expert care and attention to detail. I was treated with respect and dignity at all times. My experience was very positive and I would recommend the hospital to anyone who finds themselves in the position of needing medical intervention.
