"Emergency visit and admittance"

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

I visited the hospital after out of hours advised me to go immediately. As a foundation trust member I was expecting amazing service. The reception staff at A and E were brilliant and marked me as priority. The triage nurse was an amazing character who was exceptionally overworked and it showed they needed more support and help to offer better service. I was taken through to minors immediately where I was left for a couple of hours before acknowledgement. I was in severe pain and my husband was getting frustrated. The nursing staff who attended to me at this stage were professional, but they had no support,no other help, no hca. I appalled by how the staff are left soo short with no staff. I was then throughout the night visited by 6 different surgeons, none of whom communicate with each other. So in pain I had to explain everything 6 times over. I was advised by the lovely A and E nurses I was staying for surgery. At approximately 7am I was crying my eyes out in agony. I NO call bell and was hollering for help I noted no more than 37 members of staff walk pass and all 37 ignored my pleads for help. Eventually a nurse saw I was distressed and explained what was wrong. I was then frightened as they started saying scary stuff that made no sense. The next thing I knew I was. In ward awaiting operation. The ward staff were friendly and cheerful. Just like everywhere short of nurses and hca. I was left with dignity and privacy and the hca in f7 was the nicest person who took the time to listen to me, I told I was scared and they held my hand and listened. Just us an asset to that ward. The operating team were amazing and not that I remember much they were attentive. Back in ward I was well looked after, the hospitality team were aggressive as the bored had not been updated from nil by mouth to normal. It was a fight to get a cup of tea. The nurse staff attended to that as I was upset. I hadn't eaten 18 hours no food was offered for 3 hours. I had to contact family to bring me a snack in. I would say that the care teams overall are brilliant but as a hospital you need to support more and have more staff, um an hca myself and I would love to work in this environment. The staff deserve more support and staff. The patient care quality would improve. I remember going to a trust event where they said fph had clinical excellence. As a trust member a outside HCA and a retired clinical retired professional in a different field I would say this would be achieved with greater staff III investment.
