What I liked
I was treated with courtesy and respect in Casualty but after a wait of 8 hours and at 2am I was sent home as a diagnosis was not able to be made because the Roadiographer had not turned up.I returned the following day and after a further wait of many hours was admittedd to Montreal Ward. When the night staff came on there weas a fearful row over who was going to attend to a patient opposite me and this took place in view and hearing of all other patients on the Bay. I was deeply shocked at such unprofessional conductI am unable to walk and requested a bottle to pass water/ Unfortunately I picked a nurse with an enprmous hostile attitude and she just looked at me and carried on standing in the Bay. I requested help on three occasions and eventually got out of bed and in a state of virtual collapse. Dragged myself to the bay entrance past the nurse and made for ethe door. I collapsed near the nurses station and was helped back to bed. The supervising nurse, who was obviously having a problem with controlling the staff, was present and I told her that the nurse =the subject of my complaint had "an attitude" she agreed. The following morning I asaked to see a Doctor -told him about thye entire disgraceful incident and that in view of the extreme hostility of the nursethe nurse I was going home,Which I did. I /I treated the staff on Montreal with respect and consideration and expected nothing less in returm. I will NEVER become involved with Chase Farm again. The sad behaviour of the few unprofessional staff spoil the reputation of all the hard working staff at the hospital.
What could be improved
The nursing staff were fully informed of the situationat the time it happened. Nothing was done and presumably this was all swept under the carpet. I was treated appallingly / I have to say that if you dont "get hold" of your errant staff they will get hold of you !!
Anything else?
This was an incident that brought nothing but disgrace to the hospital..I report this not to seek revenge -that is not my way. but you will not see me again. in a thousand years
