"Due to having Prostate Cancer ..."

About: Chase Farm Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Due to having Prostate Cancer I am currently being seen by three hospitals and Chase Farm at first glance reminds me of Bletchley Park { WWII National Codes and Cipher Centre } as its spread out using old Nissen huts.

If you are a out-patient I would strongly advise printing out the map { from the web site } as you are going to need it as departments are scattered all over the place and you really need a GPS to work out how to get from A to B.

I have been going to Chase Farm for the past 16 months as a out-patient so I am well used to it by now.

I have been getting drug and hormone therapy and the treatment has been excellent.

I found the staff to be very cheerful and pleasant and the whole place to be clean.{ although with the age of the buildings it would be inpossible to keep it spotless }

They have a very helpful PALS Unit { Patient Advice and Liaison Service } who I was able to contact by e-mail and they sorted out the query within the hour { which is excellent service by any means }

What could be improved

Something really has to be done to improve the buildings as that lets it down the most.

Anything else?

Needs more money

Thank you very much for your kind comments about the treatment, cleanliness and the PALS department. We do appreciate that the wards and departments are very spead out accross the site and hope that you were able to follow the sign posts easily.
