"Friendly staff and first class treatment"

About: Torbay Hospital / Accident and emergency Torbay Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

My wife was taken to A & E by ambulance at 5 am one morning with severe breathing difficulty and a temperature of 40C. once she was in the care of the Hospital she received nothing but first class treatment for the entire week of her stay. it was discovered that she had developed an infection following surgery six weeks before. She had a CT scan as soon as possible and a drain was inserted not long after. Antibiotics were given through a drip and her recovery started from then. Once everything was under control she was moved to Dunlop Ward. Here again her treatment could not have been bettered. Every effort was made to make her comfortable and all the staff were so friendly and helpful even though they were rushed off their feet attending to bells ringing, buzzers going off and lights flashing. How they cope and still smile I do not know. All I can offer is a big thank you to all at Torbay Hospital, especially DunlopWard.
