The out of hours opthalmology service in Edinburgh has been great. Twice in the last two months (once in March, once today) I have been urgently referred to the Eye Pavilion by my optician. Both times this has happened it has been at the weekend, but both times I was seen within hours of referral, and had only a very short wait after arrival before being assessed. The doctors I saw (in March and a few days ago) gave their names, were respectful, knowledgeable, and explained the treatment clearly. They gave me the medication I needed and arranged follow up within 48 hours. Really helpful care, when I needed it.
