I was reluctantly taken in an ambulance here, for severe abdominal pain. I was not told where I was being taken and was on my own so therefore feeling very vulnerable. I arrived and was made to stand up for 10 minutes, despite my pain, whilst they checked me in. I was then told to go the waiting room, but not told where this was. It was covered in litter and was generally of a poor cleanliness standard. I was not told how long I would be waiting. I had told them that all I needed was painkillers but was left for 3 hours on my own, with no communication being made as to when I would be seen. When this did finally happen, I was given an assessment and had blood tests and told I would be given paracetamol and ibuprofen. These took 30 minutes to arrive. After another hour and a half, the test results came back and I was asked if I felt well enough to go home. Although my pain had not decreased since arriving at the rvi, and I actually felt worse, I agreed to go home as I had had enough of being made to feel guilty for requiring medical treatment, and, in hindsight, due to the poor service, I would have insisted further initially, that I did not require hospital treatment.
"Will avoid at all costs."
