"Breast Screening"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I attended a Breast Screening examination at Sunderland Royal Hospital on Tuesday 05/05/15 at 3:27pm. The member of staff who carried out the examination did not treat me with dignity or respect. During the procedure, I was made to feel that I was basically just a nuisance because I couldn't adopt requested positions quickly enough. I was chastised with a raised voice which clearly showed their irritation. In the past, this process has been eased by friendly, approachable staff. On this occasion I came away close to tears. This member of staff made me feel worthless. This experience would definitely influence whether I would accept further invitations to attend this examination. I am 60 years old. This is the first time I have felt the need to complain in this way. It's now three days since experience and I'm still finding it upsetting.
