"Misleading Opening Hours"

About: Altrincham General Hospital

Having arrived at 7.25pm after a mad dash to ensure I arrived with my injured son before 7.30pm (last admission time on website), we were turned away by a surly and unhelpful Receptionist who said there were too many people waiting to be seen. What is the point of displaying opening times on the website if you don't admit people when you are too busy? I have used the service previously and, until now, have always received excellent service.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to learn of your poor experience when you attended the Altrincham Minor Injuries Unit.

In response to your comment, we are currently reviewing our staffing levels at the Minor Injuries Unit to reflect the service needs. Your concerns have also been raised directly with the staff involved to enable them to reflect on the impact their behaviour had on your experience. We sincerely hope that this experience will not prevent you from attending the Minor Injuries Unit again should the need ever arise.

We trust that your son was able to receive appropriate care to treat his injury. If you wish to discuss your experience, Clare Kirrane, the manager of the Minor Injuries Unit can be contacted on 0161 746 2724.
