"Busy Bank Holiday"

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital

At the start of the May Bank Holiday weekend I was admitted with severe abdominal pain to Ward 31 at Darlington Memorial Hospital via the Urgent Care Centre at Bishop Auckland Hospital. I honestly expected to have to suffer until the Bank Holiday was over. Although the Ward was extremely busy, this was definitely not the case. Investigations into my condition started almost immediately and I was given the best possible care and attention by the entire Staff at all levels. My Surgeon, Doctors, Nurses and Domestic Staff all played a part in making my stay on the Ward as comfortable as possible and I would like to say a big thank you to them all. On Bank Holiday Monday I had my appendix removed and I am now happily recuperating at home. The entire staff are a credit to the NHS - a very big Thank You to them all and the Very Best of Luck for the future.

Dear Mrs Milmore Thank you for providing feedback on your recent admission to Darlington Memorial Hospital and in particular Ward 31. I am very pleased to hear that you had a positive experience and that you are happy with the care you received. The Trust is grateful for all feedback, positive or negative, as it means we can better understand what is important to our patients, and your very kind comments will be shared with the ward manager and the Matron to share with the staff on your behalf. I know they will be encouraged by your positive comments. Thank you for leaving your comments on NHS Choices.
