"My wife has attended the Fracture ..."

About: Royal Surrey County Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

My wife has attended the Fracture Clinic before and after an operation on her hand. She was regularly seen more than 2 hours after her appointment time. There seemed to be a total mismatch between the administration and medical staff. Notes were either not available or not read so that, after waiting to be seen, it was found that some preliminary work had not been done. On virtually every visit there was a problem of delay. On occasions a specific appointment time was booked for up to 5 people.

What could be improved

Someone needs to independently examine the whole process of setting up appointments/timetables and the interaction between clerical and medical staff.
