Dear Sir/Madam, I was recently admitted to the cardio unit of Royal Surrey (23-24 April) and I wanted to share the excellent care I received from the sister on the ward. They were on duty both days and they were outstanding. They knew everyone in the ward by name and knew exactly how they needed to be treated (for example, there was a demented patient and they knew how to calm them down when they became distressed, and then there was me, a 45 years old who was happy to be left alone to read and watch my ipad!). The care they gave me when I moved from the Emergency Assessment Ward to Cardio was exemplary. Within 10 minutes of moving into the ward, the sister came to explain my drug regime and make sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable in the ward – including a gown etc (as I hadn’t packed anything useful like that). They also took time to get to know me and although I was very self-sufficient and abled body, they made sure I knew that I just had to ask for anything required. Upon my transfer to Frimley Park on Friday night, 24 April, the sister personally oversaw my discharge, and again, spent as much time as I required to make sure they explained all my transfer documents, drugs and what I should expect when I arrive at Frimley. I can’t fault my entire experience at Royal Surrey, but the care I received from the sister was brilliant. I hope they can be recognised accordingly and please pass on my thanks and admiration to them and their team for a ‘wonderful’ experience and one that made my illness much easy to cope with. Yours sincerely, Paula Morrison
