"To the consultant, their team and akk the staff on..."

About: Friarage Hospital Site

I have just spent 9 days in bay 3 on the Allerton Ward. I would like to thank the consultant and their team for there kindness and care in what I,m told was a complex and difficult surgery that will improve my life and health for many years to come. Having left the ward last night I had a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye knowing that the care I was given from all of the staff was of the very highest standards anyone could ever hope or wish for. Everyone involved on this ward are truly remarkable individuals who are all striving to give more than what their jobs entail. No one likes to go into hospital but I was very sad to leave and will have fond memories of all the people I have met in both Doctors, Nurses,Porters, Catering staff and Cleaners and there are no thanks great enough to ever compensate for what you have done for my family and myself. I was extremely lucky to spend time with several patients all of whom were recovering from various abdominal surgery. It would be fare to say that the last thing one needs when recovering from this particular type of surgery would be laughter but laugh we did despite the excruciating pain it gave us. I,m sure that any of the guys in bay 3 last week would all agree that we were treat with kindness, care and the very best of attention in what must be an extremely difficult job. Special thanks go to the consultant and one of their team but we were able to make a rectal examination more like a clip from a Carry On film as opposed to an embarrassing situation, I,m sure those involved will remember it and hopefully the joke gift will remind yourselves that we all must find laughter in life as possibly the best cure for any illness. Classic. Tom.
