"A/E through to wards 3 and 4"

About: Leighton Hospital

My father was admitted A/E in mid march the care he received was excellent although the resuscitation room was very busy and only had 2 nurses on duty we as a family felt my dad was safe. He was transferred to ward 3 where in our opinion he wouldn't have been treated better had he been in a private hospital the nursing staff went above and beyond the call of duty the care for all of the patients and the dementia link nurse was extremely helpful as my dad was diagnosed with the condition whilst in hospital. After several days he was transferred to ward 4 where again his care was first class. All the staff we met were amazing they worked so hard and yet looked after the patients with a smile on their faces and with so much compassion. These people never stopped working the doctors were approachable and nothing was too much trouble as a a family we cannot thank A/E and wards 3 and 4 enough. T

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices Postings. It is excellent to hear that your father received the care and support he needed during his recent hospital stay and that you found the staff treated him in a caring and compassionate way. It is very pleasing to hear that the staff were particularly helpful in providing support for your fathers dementia condition. I will ensure that your positive comments are fed back to the wards and areas you mentioned. Best wishes Loraine Cornes Matron Medicine and Emergency Care
