I was transferred in January 2015 from the RVI. The care I have received from my MS Nurse & Consultant has been outstanding. Since being diagnosed with MS in June 2014 I have found it very hard to deal with at times. My MS Nurse always has the time to listen to me and is empathetic in their nature. The NHS should be proud to have staff such as my MS nurse on their team. I was admitted to ward D41 on 2nd March for 5 days. I received my Lemtrada treatment on the Phoenix Unit. All staff on both ward & unit and the Phoenix volunteer's were great and provided excellent care throughout my stay. My MS nurse and Neurology Consultant were there to support me throughout my treatment whilst in hospital. I was only the 3rd patient to have the treatment at Sunderland Royal - although I believe they are now onto their 7th.
