"Why am I still waiting"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

I put myself in the hands of the Oncology Department of 'Harley Street at Queens' in November 2014 and it is now May 2015. Yesterday, I finally had the necessary biopsy at King George's Hospital at Goodmayes. On my discharge this morning I was told by the doctor that it would be another four weeks before I would receive any treatment. I think you will agree that six months wait for Cancer treatment is totally unacceptable. I await your comments. Yrs John Allen.

Thank you for your comment. This length of wait for cancer treatment is highly unusual. This may be as a result of the private provider start of your care i.e. Harley Street at Queen’s, rather than the NHS aspects of the care at our hospital. I would like to help investigate this further for you. Please contact me through our PALS team with more information on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk. Yours sincerely Nadeem Moghal Medical Director
