"Refused to be seen at health centre"

About: Leicestershire and Lincolnshire

(as a relative),

We visited in April at 6. 45 pm, for my Mum.

Mum was in Rehab Centre , feeling very unwell - after being discharged from a hospital stay.

Having vomited in her wheel chair just before entering building, with accompanying breathing problems- the Receptionist seemed very unprofessional and seemed to be more interested in finding "something " (like a hairbrush? ) in their bag that was placed on their knee, and continued to be on their knee throughout our conversation. The only clue she was the Receptionist was due to her being behind a desk -. could have easily assumed she was a service user - was not immediately aware of any Identification - all I could see was her handbag!

The Receptionist stated there were no Doctors available, just Nurses on duty, and the Centre closes at 7. 45 pm (1 hour later). They stated due to Mums age" (they did not ask for her details) to take her to A&E.

No records were obtained - for statics, surely there must be a track record of people also turned away and reasons why?

Returned back to rehab Centre very disappointed & promptly called the Paramedics, whereby Mum was re-hospitalised.
