"Excellent surgical and nursing care"

During my six day stay (my first as an in-patient) I was staggered at how hard all the staff worked throughout the 24 hour day and their ability to efficiently and continually juggle priorities in such a dynamic environment. I was particularly impressed by how kind, gentle, respectful and friendly the staff were even during periods of sustained pressure. This applied to all staff including housekeeping, nursing and surgical staff. The private and public medical sectors are different. The general public need to understand that public sector staff cannot always control the number of patients or the conditions that require treatment. During my stay certain procedures were postponed. In each case the reasons were explained and at all times, through the calm skilled confidence of all members of staff I felt completely reassured that a succesful outcome would result. I wish to thank all the staff for their superb clinical abilities and kindness.
