"Baby left to wait"

About: Loughborough Hospital

I went to the urgent care in the hospital with my 18 month old who was generally unwell with a fever and breathing difficulties I was made to wait over 1 1/2 hours to be seen and when I was seen my son had a low oxygen reading and needed to be put on oxygen to get his levels back to normal and was given antibiotics and an inhaler for home treatment. I am infuriated with the waiting time I had to endure as my son was very ill and needed seeing sooner at least just to assess the seriousness of his breathing difficulties. Thankfully the doctor was professional and knew how to treat my son With the best care so the best thing of the evening was being given this doctor who was prompt with the treatment of my son.

We are very sorry that you and your son had such a long wait to be seen by the doctor. I have forwarded the details of your concern to the organisation in charge of the Urgent Care Centre at Loughborough, the West Leicestershire Clinical Commissioning Group. If you would like to know how they are acting on your concerns please contact them at http://www.westleicestershireccg.nhs.uk/contactus or via telephone on 01509 567700.
