Stayed for 2 nights recently for a suspected heart attack. Very little information from doctors and lack of communication with nurses who don't speak very good English and apparently don't listen when you give them answers to the questions they are asking. Had me down as a smoker and drinker and I do neither! was transfered to cardio ward second night and was told I would have a echo ultrasound the following day and would be able to go home as all the other tests were fine or inconclusive. I asked to be transfered to pinderfields hospital in wakefield where I live because my family were travelling 180 miles a day but they wouldn't do this. after having to ask when I would have the echo test I was told that the machine was broken and that it wouldn't be repaired until after the bank holiday weekend or even later which by the way was 4 days later. I discharged myself later that afternoon and they wouldn't give my my notes to take to pinderfields but would e mail a letter to my doctors, which by the way my doctors have not received. I went to a & e at pindefields when I got home had a ecg which the doctor said was absolutely fine and if they were their results they would be very pleased! I was also told that I was at no risk of a heart attack and was fit and well. Not a very good experience at Grimsby hospital.
