My auntie who suffers with dementia was omitted to PAH following a fall who could walk, talk and feed herself. I was on holiday and came back 5 days later to find that she was now bed ridden, incontinent and had lost so much weight. Her mouth was so dry and her lips were peeling . We were advised that she had no fractures but was showing that she was suffering severe pain. The Ward Manager advised us that she would need moving every 2 hours to prevent bed sores. This did not happen and when we asked for her to be moved the nurse informed us that they were the only qualified nurse and 1 care assistant to 12 patients so they would get round to it. We asked if we could come in earlier to feed my aunt and the answer was yes as they did not have time to feed them. There were 3 other patients in the same way as my aunt who were also elderly and could not feed themselves and their food was delivered and half hour later taken away and nobody came to assist. Shocking nursing care. You would not treat animals like that. Communication very poor and the small amount of nursing staff English very poor. What happened to this Trust?
"Poor care"
