"Father's care"

My father was admitted with septic arthritis and sepsis. This was not recognised or managed in a timely or appropriate fashion. Antibiotic treatment was not appropriately administered. Nursing and medical care was poor and inattentive. Serious life threatening pathology was not recognised or acted upon, with near fatal outcomes. Nursing staff continued to reassure over the phone that all was well, despite serious deterioration in the patients condition.

This was early 2015. I am dismayed, that despite a formal complaint being lodged with the Royal Alexandra Hospital regarding nursing and medical care on ward 23, it would appear that similar errors in care and failures in communication have continued. I would have hoped, that lodging a formal complaint would ensure that action is taken to prevent such failures in future. This does not seem to be the case, having read other stories on this website.
