I attended the dept with sudden onset of excruciating shoulder pain at approx 11.30am. Working in healthcare it was heartening to see what I observed during my visit and how myself and other patients and carers were treated and cared for. All staff , receptionists, porters, nurses, emergency practioner, radiograpers were absolutely wonderful, responsive, caring, polite, professional, and smiling all the time. I was seen by an emergency practioner, examined, xrayed given advice , analgesia and a plan for when I returned to my local healthcare setting. I have nothing but praise for the staff I encountered that day. One area of improvement woud be that the information due to be sent to my gp to allow onward referal to an orthopaedic specialist has not yet been processed, therefore causing a delay in onward treatment. A big well done and thankyou to the team
"excellent care when treated in A&E dept 26th april..."
