Having experienced this hospital for a lengthy period, I can thoroughly commend many departments from the unsung hero paramedics who stabilised a critical situation and A&E department whose early intervention and escalation to the correct department saved my spouse's life. Also, the brilliant Cardiothoracic Centre with their truly exceptional team on Colne Ward whose attention to detail, care, sense of humour and superb communication is second to none - from the caring housekeeping staff to friendly NCAs and dedicated, informative and efficient nursing team plus not forgetting the all important surgeon, surgical fellows, doctors, micro-biologists, medical photographers, CT scanners, porters, physios and blood bank staff - your dedication and never give up attitude paid off. Commendation is also due to Chelmer Ward and the highly skilled physio team from neuro rehab wards - their ability to communicate effectively with patients and respect the individual has produced impressive progress and is very much appreciated. We are fortunate to have such a facility and such dedicated staff in the Basildon & Thurrock area.
