As soon as I arrived at A and E I was greeted by a specialist stroke nurse and given an overview of tests already performed on my Mum and the problems she was having. We were then taken to George Earle ward where a Consultant gave my Mum a thorough examination and was then prepared to sit and discuss what had happened and what would happen over the next few days. On every visit to the ward I found the staff friendly and approachable and always willing to answer questions. My Mum appeared relaxed and comfortable even though she hates being in hospital, the staff would take time to listen to her and would always explain what was going on. The speech therapist was willing to sit and answer questions on the best way forward and give advice on short and longer term stimuli and goals. The OT also called me to update me on progress. We are very grateful to all of the team on George Earle ward, they are doing an excellent job.
"Caring, approachable and communicative staff"
