"Preparation could be improved"

About: Hereford County Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I had fibroids removed by Myosure as an outpatient at Hereford hospital. The staff were brilliant but despite taking paracetamol in advance the procedure was painful during the procedure and for an hour afterwards. I have had four children without pain relief and it was similar in intensity to the end of the first stage of labour. The pain eased after I was given codeine plus Ibruprofen but the bleeding was unexpectedly heavy and despite pads soaked through my clothes and on to the car seat on the way home. After two days the pain has gone and the bleeding is easing off but I would have doubts about this procedure again without strong pain relief.
