"Having visited the Walk-In centre ..."
About: Crawley Hospital Crawley Hospital Crawley RH11 7DH
What I liked
Having visited the Walk-In centre many times (as I live in Crawley) my opinion is that the hospital is under-staffed, not properly equipped (medical technology), demotivated and (some) staff can be lazy, ignorant, indifferent and even excessively aggresive (Manager/leader level, not nurses)
Although this is not necessarily the norm, it prevented me from going to the hospital many times. Instead I preferred the Redhill hospital, which i found to be (sometimes) better.
What could be improved
- Staff attitude (doctors and managers). Nurses seemed fine all the time. Doctors and managers seem indifferent, rude, aggresive, ignorant and (sometimes) incompetent. Staff also don't seem to care about the long term health of the patient. For any problem, they offer you paracetamol and leave.
- Staffing (most of the times had to wait over four hours to see a doctor)
- Technology. Could not have an MRI done at all (basic diagnosis device)
- Indifference towards pain, suffering and long-term health of the patient. Some of the people working in that place clearly are in the wrong job; they can't work with people and don't realize what sort of responsiblity they have on their hands.
Sub-standard overall, more like an 70's or 80's standards. Clearly not anywhere close to any standards seen/expected in a Western European country. Seems that government interest in the public health is at a very low.
