I have been under the care of the gynaecology team at Royal Free Hospital since late October 2014. During this time I have received care as an outpatient as well as an inpatient, the latter for both minor and major surgery. The care I received from nursing, medical, domestic and voluntary staff was exceptional at all times and clearly demonstrated the Trust's commitment to its World Class Care values. There are far too many staff to mention by name but I would especially like to thank the following people:- The Pre Assessment Gynaecology Nurse, the Consultant Gynaecologists, the Emergency Gynaecology Unit Nurses, the sister and student nurse on 7 North Ward. I would also like to convey my thanks to the domestic staff on 7 North Ward who helped to make my 3 day stay there "fun". They were a cheerful bunch and only too happy to help - one of them even took the trouble to alter the time on the wall clock in my room as it was wrong. This was not because I asked but because they knew it was making me somewhat confused as I kept forgetting the time was wrong. Finally, a major thank you to the volunteers who came to the ward with the trolley laden with sweets and other goodies. As I had limited mobility at the time the access to the goods on the trolley was very much appreciated. One of the volunteers also made me a lovely (additional) cup of tea despite being busy at the time. These gestures although small on the surface genuinely enhanced my care and confirmed to me that I had made the right decision in terms of choosing this unit to undertake my care. The gynaecology team are a real asset to the Trust and I have no hesitation in recommending them to any would be patients - you will be in good hands!
