"One night on Wenslydale ward"

About: Harrogate District Hospital

I was asked to come to the pre op department at 7am for my operation, I was told I was second on the list so it wouldn't be too late, bearing in mind I wasn't allowed any food or drink. I got told there was complications with the first person so it could be a while which I understood and wasn't worried, I then got told I was third on the list for no reason why.. At this point it was around 2pm so I was hungry and thirsty. Then I was told I was 4th on the list as the lady who was put in front of me was diabetic and needed to be done before me. so at around 6:30 I was sent down to theatre after not food or drink I felt pretty rubbish! The operation went well! My surgeon was amazing! However I was on the Wenslydale ward afterwards for one night, the ward didn't have enough staff on, I asked for pain relief didn't get it until 2 hours later, I buzzed to go to the toilet I waited about 20 minutes.. The phyiso therapist was really rude to me in the morning Overall it was very unorganised and seemed like chaos! Not a very pleasant experience for my first ever over night stay in hospital!
