"My partners lack of care"

My partner had to go in Lincoln County Hospital last week. He was first taken onto A & E after he had his diabetic blood sugars being very high and because he had taken a drug overdose.

While he was in A & E he was promised that if he would go under a detox program he would get all the back up he could get from Lincoln Hospital. We both thought this was wonderful and was just what my partner needed.

He was then transferred later that night to Dixon Ward, after he had been in for two days they told him he could go. Till the Dr saw that he should have been on a detox program that was never given to him although he had been promised it. So though he was looking forward to going back home he had to stay in longer so that he could go through the program. Also he had been promised that he would see the Crisis team who never came no where near my partner though it had been requested by the nurses and Dr's.

After three days of not seeing the Crisis Team my partner felt there was no need to see them and had given up the hope to see them. He had really needed the help of the crisis team who once again had never shown up all the time he was in hospital even though he had overdosed himself.

On release from the hospital the Dr sent him home with instruction that his GP would carry on his detox program in that he would get the help and support in the community such as Dart and help with the mental health team but in reality he went to the Dr's and found he couldnt get in for 10 days so there was no support at all for him.

Why get the hopes of people up who are in desperate need of this support if it is not possible to be accomplished. Also why can't a program be seen if it can work.
