What I liked

My fantasic surgeon and most of the nursing staff especially those in ICU

What could be improved

Any sort of involvment from my so called consultant and more staff.

I was taken in to Medway hospital for an emergency opp. When i arrived my consultant was nowhere to be found. I was left sedated in a bed for three days whilst other doctors who were not familier with my case tried to decide what to do for the best. I contracted septecimia,MRSA,Pnemonea, both my lungs collapsed and had a tracheotomey.I was only suposed to be having a routine opp. I was in hospital for four months.

My only real complaint with regards to the treatment i recived was that my consultant/ specialist who had been seeing me on a regular basis for five years previously should have refered me for the surgery way before i collspsed. during my four month stay i can only recall him coming to check on me three times. My surgeon and his team were great i couldnt have asked for more. The nurse`s on the whole were very good but very over worked and all the wards i have stayed in were under staffed.

In general the medway hospital is a good hospital and allthough i suffered with alot of unnecassary complications i was treated well and surported by most the staff with the exception of the so called consaltant.
