"Short stay at weekend- nughtmare"

About: The Whittington Hospital

After spending 4 hours in assessment I was finally moved on to the surgical ward- well only to be told they wouldn't have me and my bed was then wheeled to the medical ward. Having spent less than 24 hours on the medical ward I was told by the bed manager that I had to go to the surgical ward because I was seen by the surgical team that morning! I refused to go because I was fed up of the debacle the previous night and I was tired. I was finally told a day later that I had to move. I protested by walking behind my bed as it was wheeled to the surgical ward. Unfortunately no one bothered to update my notes and both the surgical team or gynae teams did not see me on the Monday morning because they went looking for me in the wrong ward. I was definitely dragged into the hospital bed politics which was unpleasant. I felt that I wasn't really cared for. I finally convinced the doctors to discharge me. I'm now being seen as an out patient and dread having to go back in that hospital again!
