"Seeking advice for fertility"

About: Leicester General Hospital

I am disgusted in how I've been treated. I pay my taxes to be given incorrect information and now still awaiting treatment. I have been on clomid for 7 months and unfortunately have not fell pregnant yet so had an appointment with a specialist at the general fertility clinic on19th March who words were "so your not pregnant yet then " when I returned which is quite incentive, who then asked me what I wanted to do next ? I said can you advise me, I am not the specialist. They then explained iui which I agreed to, who said they would put in a referral to Nottingham care. 5 weeks later still no referral, so I called back to the secretary who has been most unfriendly and most unhelpful and said we are downloaded with work and have staff on holiday. this is appalling service. I said I want to know why this hasn't been referred. They then said they would fax it to them. I then rang care who said no referral was ever sent and they got the fax, but has no idea why I was referred there, as they only do for private not NHS. I then called back to this secretary who's then assured me it must be wrong but needed to speak to specialist and called me back the next day to say the specialists sends their apologies, was not aware they do not do it! I thought I was in the best place for correct advice but this was not the case. The specialist said they would now refer me to Leicester royal. it's now 2 weeks on they have no referral so again I have rang back now very unhappy again, assured it has been sent and the royal confirm they have no referral, so secretary says they would fax which they received on 28th March. they now have made all appointments for next month and do not see why I have now been kept waiting 7 weeks because someone is incapable of sending a letter. I understand there is a wait on NHS however not to send a letter to be delayed on both referrals is unacceptable and at such a time where I am told not to stress this is all they have caused me!

Dear Reviewer We are very sorry you have been left disappointed by your treatment. We would very much like to find out what happened with your referral letters and very much hope this can be easily resolved. Please email communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk, outlining what has happened, along with your name, address, date of birth and the name of your consultant - if you happen to know it. We'll then do our very best to get to the bottom of this. Sincerely Communications Team Leicester's Hospitals
