"Orthodontic department"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

My daughter's treatment is now at the very end having had her braces removed and retainer fitted today. The results have been excellent. The expected discomfort was within bearable limits and short lived and now her teeth are super straight from a jumbled mess 18 months ago! The department has always been clean and tidy on our visits. All staff, receptionists, radiographers, nurses, care assistants, consultants, all of them were friendly, welcoming, accommodating and very efficient especially given the workload of the unit. Can't comment on inpatient services as we've not experienced these but if they're as good as Orthodontics they'll be great!

Dear Anonymous Our Orthodontic department are working hard to gather a wide range of feedback from their patients and I think you are the first to have left a comment on this web forum so thank you for that and I know they will be thrilled. It is great news to know that after 18 months of hard work, and probably a few tears, you and your daughter are now seeing the benefit of the treatment. This is rewarding for your family especially your daughter and hopefully an encouragement to other patients facing similar treatment to know that with time and commitment a ‘jumbled mess’ of teeth can be made straight. Thank you for highlighting the high level of care and service you have received in this busy department and you don’t appear to have left anyone out from cleaners to consultants and I will make sure your feedback is relayed to all these areas. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and I wish you and your daughter all the best for the future. Regards Sue Mellor Head of Patient Engagement
