"Minor injuries Unit but no doctors in it"

I have lived in the area for 14 years and never needed an out of hrs service, I did this week and seeing it is advertised as being open from 10am to 6 pm dragged my aching body on the 40 min drive to find a doctor. I infact found a cleaner who explained that you have to ring 111 and make an appointment and that I needed to go home. Considering this is the only hospital for miles around I think it is very sad that such a facility is advertised but not actually manned.
