""Holiday" at Scarborough Hospital"

About: Scarborough General Hospital

My wife and I were enjoying our holiday at West Ayton Caravan Club, when at midnight on the night of 17th April, I was awakened by pain and realised I had gone into Atrial Flutter with a pulse rate of 150 bpm. We immediately contacted the site wardens who dialled 999 immediately. A paramedic was there within ten minutes and I was assessed and brought to your A&E department. I received immediate attention from a doctor and nurse. After several attempts of reverting my heart back to normal rhythm without success, I was transferred to your CCU department where I spent 4 days when I was eventually reverted back to normal rythmn by cardioversion. I was discharged on Tuesday 21st April. During the time I spent at your hospital, I can only say that I received care and attention second to none; Nothing was too much trouble - even comforting and supporting my wife as she visited me. I could name many nurses and doctors, but it would be unfair, for all of them were great. Being in a bed opposite the nurses station, I could see the "comings and goings" all day long and cannot but express my praise for the way they are dedicated in their job and the long hours they work; - they never stop. Yes, I was so pleased to leave your hospital, but will always remember it with grateful heart- felt thanks and gratitude to all your staff and can only seek to encourage them to carry on with their great work. Thank you to all
