"I took my five year-old daughter ..."

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I took my five year-old daughter to A&E when she broke her arm falling off a trampoline and was very impressed with the care she received. The A&E paediatric sister in particular was fantastic - really making an effort to put my daughter at ease, checking that we had all the information we needed, making a fracture clinic appointment for us and generally making us feel special and cared for. I can't praise her highly enough.

What could be improved

We had a bit of a nightmare getting in to A&E in the first place. We drove there and ended up spending at least 25 mins looking for somewhere to park. I eventually had to leave the car on a meter knowing we'd be there too long, and sure enough we got a ticket. Not sure what the hospital can do about that though.

Anything else?

Overall this was a really positive experience - hoping that this continues when we attend the fracture clinic next week...

Thank you for taking the time to give our A&E staff such positive feedback. Unfortunately the availability of parking spaces at the hospital is limited. Our planned redevelopment of the Royal Sussex County Hospital site promises to provide more parking for patients in the future.
