What I liked
midwives were superb throughout
support staff were friendly and helpful
treatment and advice were top-quality
everyone working on the maternity knew our situation before coming to see us
even the views are wonderful - giving birth to sunrise over the sea and south downs is quite a privilege
even the food was good!
What could be improved
signage in the hospital is not clear
more staff could be employed by the trust/NHS if funding was increased
Anything else?
in a time when the NHS in general and midwives in particular are coming under fire from all sides, the support and service we experienced during pregnancy and labour was second to none. As first time parents we were delighted with the Royal Sussex County Hospital and grateful to all the midwives there and at our local surgery.
