"Personal Independance Payment"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

I have Schizoaffective Disorder. I used to get Disability Living Allowance but was re-assessed when DLA changed to Personal Independence Payment. I was told I wasn't entitled to PIP after an assessment at home. I was so worried about my financial situation and decided to appeal. My Community Psychiatric Nurse, Melissa, and my Psychiatrist, Dr Steels both wrote letters to the appeals centre on my behalf. I wrote one too. Now I have been awarded PIP and I am so grateful to my CPN and Dr Steels for writing those letters. If they hadn't have wrote in for me I don't think I would have won my appeal. So, thank you.

Dear Ali12

I'm so please you have been able to get the decision on your PIP reversed. I shall make sure your thanks are passed onto Melissa and Dr Steels.

Take care

Tim
