"Maternity unit's staff did their best"

I had quite a difficult labour lasting many hours, not progressing and ending up with failed forceps and emergency c section, so I was in various wards (Rushey Midwife Led Unit, Delivery Suit, Operating theatre, Marsh Ward) and experienced nothing less but an excellent care in terms of being treated with respect, compassion and competence. All the staff was extremely considerate about what was happening during and after the labour. I had such a great support and encouragement from all the midwives accompanying me on Rushey Midwife Unit, and later on Operating Thetre - the staff was constantly keeping me and my husband informed about what was happening and reassuring us to that everything is under their control. Even though it was a very difficult experience, people working on this ward made things much easier to cope with emotionally and I was sure all the time that this is a fully-skilled staff and we are in good hands. Also I'd like to mention that midwives working in Marsh Ward are amazing and that they really helped me to adapt to a new role of being first time mum. Especially at nights when I was alone and my baby was crying and I didn't know why - they tought me a lot and helped to go through my baby blues. Every person that I met during my hospital stay is my hero - people working there are extremelly considerate and kind. They turned this difficult time into something precious. Me and my husband (and my healthy baby boy) are very thankful for all your support.
