"the NHS at its very best"

About: Glenfield Hospital

It is now 4 weeks since my quadruple coronary artery bypass and i would like to take this opportunity both to thank staff and also reassure others due to be admitted for cardiac surgery. My surgeon and their Registrar were skilled, knowledgeable and approachable, always willing to answer any questions in easily understood terms. Similarly the nursing staff on wards 31 and 34 were brilliant. They were not only very proficient, everything was carried out with good humour. tha AICU medical and nursing staff were second to none and it felt incredibly safe to be there. Often forgotten i suspect is the contribution made by OT and Pharmacy, both could not have been more helpful. The discharge lounge worked well and it was very helpful to have discharge medication explained. What could have been a frightening experience turned out to be so positive both for me and my wife who was able to stay on site. Thank you Glenfield.

Dear Geoff,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us, this must have been a worrying time for you and your family. We are delighted to know that your experience was as positive as it could be under the circumstances!

We have passed this lovely feedback onto the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery managers, as well as the matron for wards 31 and 34 - they in turn, will be proud to share this with the wider teams you mention above.

Wishing you anf your family a happy and healthy future,

Best wishes
