"Endocrinology"

About: Southend Hospital

I have been attending outpatients every 2 months since April 2014 due to an overactive thyroid. In that time I have seen registrars, but I have not seen a consultant . Although an appointment is now overdue I have been told they are unable to offer any appointments because both a consultant and registrar have left. I have been unable to ascertain when they can actually offer me an appointment and it is a matter of concern to say the least especially as the drug I have been given is not intended for long term use.

Thank you for your post relating to your Outpatients appointment and I am sorry to hear of the problems you have encountered. Can I ask that you contact our PALS department for them to look into your case for you as without personal identifiable information I am unable to look into specific cases. PALS can be contacted by telephone 01702 385333 or via email pals@southend.nhs.uk Again, I am sorry to hear of your problems and hope something can be rectified for you.
