About: Colchester General Hospital

I underwent a carotid endarterectomy under local anaesthetic, which took three hours. I cannot speak highly enough of the skill and kindness of all the team involved especially as I was very, very anxious. Nurses spent time with me trying to reassure me and that was much appreciated. On a completely different topic, the hospital was undergoing building work at the time, the ward was so noisy and walls vibrating with the use of machinery that at times it was very difficult for all. The food is awful even for hospital food but thats not what we go there for is it!
