I had key hole surgery to remove my gall bladder yesterday and am now at home recovering. I was very anxious at admission but found all staff to be reassuring & sympathetic especially the anaesthetist who really listened to my concerns. I actually found my experience in recovery was "almost" the best part, as I had a lovely nurse at my side who looked after me so well. I had no " after effects " of the anaesthetic ie nausea or wooziness ( my main worries) & was offered pain relief even though the post operative pain was bearable. I really couldn't fault my treatment and after being admitted to the busy day ward at 7am was at home by 5.30pm. After being admitted to hospital twice in the last 6 months plus various scans & consultant appointments I have only praise for our NHS. My treatment has been fantastic. My only advise is for people to be "patient patients". Staff are doing their best in what appears to be difficult times.
