"The NHS is dead."

About: Cheltenham General Hospital

Since being diagnosed with prostate cancer in Jan 2015, I have realised first hand how bad the NHS really is, I was told today that the "window of opportunity" has now closed for me to go on clinical trials, because I still haven't had a simple biopsy done that was ordered mid Jan! The one I had was negative because the prostate was missed, the second one was cancelled after I waited for 2 hours in a gown. One appointment was made in 4 months ' time, instead of 4 weeks. We were told nothing for 2 hours because the nurse could not speak English, despite the wall being plastered with notices about how important communication is. In the first 6 visits, I saw 5 different consultants. A scan went missing. My notes were not up to date and the consultant had to ask me what had since last time. They get my name wrong. And, today, the doctor in charge of my care told me I could see another consultant and that they are not to blame for anything that went wrong, it's the other departments fault! The consultant then went to another room and wouldn't speak to me- I still have absolutely no idea of what I may have said to make them so angry. There's been no-one to speak to and no-one offers any help, assistance or care. One nurse told me I should be grateful that I am receiving free treatment! If this is the case, can I have my 45 years of national insurance refunded please? I feel I am an hindrance to the medical staff and my very very being there is preventing the doctors from doing whatever it they should be doing.
