"Physio services now run from Newcastle?"

I cannot see how this is meant to be more efficient! I live in Brentwood have to call a Basildon Number which puts me through to Newcastle. The team there have not got a clue why I don't want to drive my daughter to Thurrock because they do not know the area. I could not book on the 25 March as the books were closed due to this changeover in services to privately run Company MSK. I had to call after the 1 April which I did and the first appointment available for was 3 weeks down the line. I had this confirmed in writing but had a phone call at 8.30 on the day of appointment cancelling due to a training day. Appalling - when I asked why I was not called sooner the excuse was because they had only known about it at the end of the day on Friday and they had a few people to call - so? I had to re-arrange my working day and my daughter had to re-arrange her college commitments but we were not worthy enough of a call because Newcastle had to go home! I called BCH physio dept who knew nothing of a training day and admitted there are problems with Newcastle holding the diaries! My daughter was given her appointment back with the same person so glad I raised this as the next available appointment was for over a week's time. The joke was that at the bottom of the appointment confirmation there was a warning if you miss your appointment or do not give sufficient notice you may be discharged from the service- Shame it doesn't apply both ways!
