I fainted and broke my ankle one sunny Sunday afternoon. Not completely with it and still recovering from the shock of being unconscious, I rang 111 about the fainting episode - not really feeling the pain in my ankle.
They were kind, understanding but really quick to tell me to go to A&E, with a talk from the nurse and a doctor all in the space of about 20 minutes. Little waiting time on hold. Without that advice, I wouldn't have realised I had a fractured fibula which meant surgery and long resting.
Thank you 111, a service that has been discussed a lot but is definitely needed!
