"Based on treatment received by my father"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital

My father was taken to Chorley Hospital from his care home. He had dementia and was in his eighties. He was given food and drinks but was unable to cope with the food & drink without assistance. On arrival at visiting time food and drink had been left untouched. After one week after receiving treatment for a water infection on arrival again at the evening visiting time I was informed by the senior nurse that they were waiting of an ambulance to take him back to the care home. It was mid October and all he had with him was his panamas. The care home does not take people after 6pm. I explained this as the two staff would be busy getting their patients ready for bed. The ambulance had still not arrived at 9pm. This was an impossible situation but the nurse in charge was adamant my father would have to leave that evening. It was disgusting .with no respect or dignity shown for my father. They only wanted the bed. Complete issue would take to long to discuss here.
