I had excellent care throughout - particular mention to the trainee para-medic who looked after me until I got to hospital and then all the staff in A&E, Resusitation, and Acute Stroke Unit whose care was superb. I felt involved in all stages of my treatment, everyone was patient, considerate, respectful and caring and I felt my condition was very thoroughly investigated and all my questions and concerns addressed fully. Particular mention to one person for being so cheerful, and the stroke research team for their useful advice, the OT for taking me into the garden and Tadge Sullivan the junior doctor who took the trouble to phone my GP and find out the history of my heart murmur and explain the possible causes of my stroke so clearly as well as the future care and investigations I will have. Also the lovely person, who brought such good food each meal time and all the nurses for their kind attention to my care. It was scary being in hospital on my 55th birthday but I couldn't have spent it with nicer people! A huge thank you to everyone.
