I sustained a head injury and was diagnosed with severe concussion. As a result I was confused, unable to communicate and agitated. It was a frightening experience. I was treated promptly and with respect, dignity and compassion by the nursing staff and in particular by a doctor who figured out how afraid I was of lots of people. When I returned 2 days later the staff were again wonderful and treated me with respect and dignity. I have been to other hospitals in the North East, I feel they have much to learn from Darlington who treat people with compassion.
